The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. I'm not sure about this spider. It might be an immature male cross orb weaver or it might be something else. The color was interesting though and it was willing to ignore my camera so now we have it captured for posterity. I don't think it is dangerous but you never know.
